>>>Portraits - Finazzo Boys>>> Naples Fl Children's photographer

Until recently I had not gotten the chance to photograph older boys. My typical subject are girls, between the ages of toddler and high school senior. The few boys I have photographed, up to this point, have been toddlers (with the exception of a couple of cousins). This ends up being the case because most of the people I know have girls. Because I have few boys that I shoot, I put it out there that I was looking for a few. With that request came my friend Tiffany (she's brought several of my last few subjects), who's boss has three boys. Because her boss' birthday was coming up, we got together to do this as a potential birthday present. What mother doesn't enjoy photographs of her children? :)

The boys from this shoot range from 6 years up to 13 years old. While discussing location and outfit possibilities, I concluded that these kids (and clearly their mother) have amazing style! I was right, they didn't disappoint. And because Tiffany humors me, a requested fedora was added into the mix to give us an accessory to play with that would match the outfit options their mother had already decided on. I'm a HUGE fedora fan, what can I say? I'm so glad that my friend "gets me" :) It turned out amazing.

The boys were a riot :) Each boy was so incredibly different from the other. I had a preconceived notion that they'd be quite similar, but nope! Each boy was his own person, with his own personality, sense of humor, and energy level. It was also amazing to see how unique boys are to girls during a shoot, as well. One would think that, amongst the same age groups, a boys shoot vs a girl's shoot would be similar too, but I didn't find this to be the case. This might just be the comparison between the boys and girls I have shot though, not sure if other photographers feel the same way. If you're a photographer who's reading this, let me know what you think on the girls vs. boys part of this conversation :) I'd love to hear what everyone thinks!

As for this session, I'm happy with how it turned. It was so much fun working with older children. I love toddlers, but there's nothing like having someone who is old enough to have patience and take direction :) hahaha
